We are thrilled to announce that Aston Knowles will be working together with Help To Make Tummies Full Again, an amazing charitable group that we’ve been so inspired by over the past few months.
Help To Make Tummies Full Again helps out families in need in Aldridge and surrounding areas by providing food and necessities hampers. The group’s founder, Lucie Dennis, was inspired by footballer Marcus Rashford’s appeal following the Government’s announcement that they weren’t going to fund children’s free school meals over the holidays. It started with Lucie making Facebook appeals by herself and has grown into a team of 35 volunteers who now work with various charities, schools, and women’s refuges.
An incredible number of families have been helped by the amazing initiative and the group’s Facebook group has attracted an impressive 1,200 members and over 1,000 food donations since they set up.
Each food parcel is tailor-made to each family’s needs, and members of the Facebook group are able to donate directly by using the Facebook group and Amazon wishlist where you can buy and donate items anonymously.
Here at Aston Knowles we’ve been so touched by the community that has rallied around Lucie and her team to help these families over the Christmas period, a time of year that is already difficult enough but that was not improved by the pandemic and all the consequences that brought with it. There are still a lot of families relying on the kind donations made to Help To Make Tummies Full while we move into the new year. That’s why we’ve decided that for every property that we sell upon completion we will be donate a Morrisson’s food hamper to Help To Make Tummies Full.
Want to help out too?
There are plans to make Help To Make Tummies Full a charity in the future, but for now you can visit the group’s Facebook page to find out what items are needed or donate money directly via the group’s JustGiving page.
