Keep colours subdued<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite what Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen would have you do here, keep your colour palette muted. Introduce whites, creams, and soft, soothing versions of the more brighter colours you may prefer elsewhere in the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Simple symmetry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Matching bedside tables and lamps work great here. If you can place your bed in the centre of a wall, even better. If you have a window on one side of a wall, perhaps you could visually balance it out with a mirror on the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lighting is the key to calm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If the lighting in your bedroom is harsh and cold, or dark and dingy, this will impact on how the room feels. If you only have an overhead light, ensure the bulbs you select are soft white rather than the cold icy white option. The same goes for any bedside lamps; think warm, soft and cosy. For a little extra sparkle, drape a string of fairy lights (warm white of course!) across a mirror, or curled up inside a tasteful glass vase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Happy hampers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It’s all too tempting to toss clothes onto a chair or *gasp* the floor \ud83e\udd2f but the aim here is to keep your sleeping space tidy.
