The group\u2019s founder, Lucie Dennis, was inspired by footballer Marcus Rashford\u2019s appeal following the Government\u2019s announcement that they weren\u2019t going to fund children\u2019s free school meals over the holidays. It started with Lucie making Facebook appeals by herself and has grown into a team of 35 volunteers who now work with various charities, schools, and women\u2019s refuges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An incredible number of families have been helped by the amazing initiative and the group\u2019s Facebook group has attracted an impressive 1,200 members and over 1,000 food donations since they set up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each food parcel is tailor-made to each family\u2019s needs, and members of the Facebook group are able to donate directly by using the Facebook group and Amazon wishlist where you can buy and donate items anonymously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here at Aston Knowles we\u2019ve been so touched by the community that has rallied around Lucie and her team to help these families over the Christmas period, a time of year that is already difficult enough but that was not improved by the pandemic and all the consequences that brought with it.
