There are tons of exciting outdoor events happening in and around Sutton Coldfield in June, so we’ve selected our favourite ones to help you make the most of your time off this month. Sunday 2 June 2019 – Travels Through Time
An exciting musical afternoon for the whole family: Travels Through Time promises a “fantastical, musical journey through four centuries, and into the future”. Sunday 2 June 2019 – Great Midlands Fun Run
The Great Midlands Fun Run is back this year on what promises to be a lovely Sunday afternoon. One of the most famous events in the Sutton Coldfield calendar, the Fun Run is an 8.5-mile all-tarmac route that starts and ends in the centre of Sutton Coldfield. Along the way runners will pass through Sutton Park via the Boldmere Gate and exit and Four Oaks gate. Participants are encouraged to wear fancy dress, and many are running to support their self-choses charities. Get your tickets here, or just show up on the day to show your support!
Friday 7, Saturday 8, Sunday 9 June 2019 – Birmingham Coffee Festival
This three-day festival celebrating coffee returns to Birmingham for the third time this year. The three-day festival at the iconic Custard Factory in Digbeth was visited by more than 3,000 people last summer, and this year up to double the amount of people are expected at the increasingly popular event. The top 40 independent coffee shops and coffee culture experiences will be gathered in the Custard Factory this June and visitors will be able to sample specialty coffee and food from all around the world. Sunday 9 June 2019 – Paint like Van Gogh
Unleash your creativity this summer with the Paint like van Gogh painting session at Red Peppers at The Mailbox. Saturday 15 June 2019 – Birmingham UK Kids Fun Triathlon
The Birmingham UK Kids Fun Triathlon returns to Sutton Park on Saturday the 15th of June. The popular event that also attracts thousands of kids in Oxfordshire, Shropshire, and Staffordshire is bound to be a fun and active day out for the kids. The event is set in a safe environment and features a lake swim with lane ropes, safety boats, and support in the water to ensure the safety of all the kids participating. There are medals for everyone who finishes the race and special T-shirts are available to buy on the day. This day is sure to leave kids with smiling faces and a huge sense of achievement! Sunday 16 June 2019 – Birmingham Triathlon
The Birmingham Triathlon takes place on Father’s Day this year, making it a perfect outing for the all the family. Taking place in the stunning Sutton Park, the triathlon promises to deliver ‘a sense of wilderness within an urban environment’. With an open water swim in Powell’s pool; the largest lake in the park at 48 acres, closed to traffic bike course within the park, and a rural run through heathland and ancient woodland, this year’s Father’s Day is sure going to be a spectacular one. The penultimate weekend of June sees the Foodie Festival return to Cannon Hill Park, where you can enjoy a large variety of food, drink, and enjoy live music. Promising to be a great weekend of outdoor fun and feasting (with hopefully a lot of sunshine), the festival organisers promise workshops, masterclasses, and top name bands such as the Neville Staple Band to entertain guests while they enjoy the food. Saturday 22 June 2019 – BBQ Fest

Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 June 2019 – Concerts in the Park
June goes out with a banger, with Concerts in the Park taking place the last weekend of the month. The popular festival will take place for the third time this year and will be held in the stunning Sutton Park. The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra is headlining the Saturday night and wil be conducted by CBSO Associate Conductor Michael Seal. UK swing and jive act The Jive Aces are confirmed to be the support act. It promises to be a perfect family weekend, with Alice in Wonderland themed activities on the Sunday.
