Aldridge Fit Club owner, Ian Dempsey, hopes that the victory win on the morning of 6th April puts him in good stead for the start of the Triathlon season. After a winter training program clocking around 15 hours of tri specific training including over 100 miles on the bike, 30 miles of running and 6-7 miles in the pool each and every week, Dempsey feels race fit as this season kicks off.
The Halesowen Triathlon was held in the town centre with a 400m pool swim, followed by a punishing 14-mile hilly bike into a 5km run. Dempsy who finished in first place took home a generous £100 prize presented by ITU Triathlon world champion, Non Stamford.
Over the coming months Dempsey will participate in Deesford Sprint Tri (13th April) BRAT Sprint triathlon (27th April) Majorca 70.3 Ironman (10th May) World triathlon qualifier; Shropshire Olympic distance triathlon (25th May) Pruhealth World Olympic distance Triathlon London (31st May) and World triathlon qualifier; Olympic distance Deeva Triathlon, Chester (8th June).
Dempsey’s Sponsor, Aston Knowles Chartered Surveyors & Estate agents in Sutton Coldfield said, “We are really proud to be supporting Ian.
